President Donald Trump is first of all, a businessman with a neck for managing money. That is precisely, one of the major advantages of having him in office that can be beneficial to the United States.
He knows how to handle finance, and can combat waste.
And in order to do that, he would have to look even further than just draining the swamp of incapable politicians.
Throughout history, the United States government has wasted enormous amounts of hard-earned taxpayer money, on useless things.
Naturally, a lot of politicians are bound to have some difficulty with this, even more so since they benefit from it personally, but it looks like the businessman president doesn’t care for that. The problem needs to be resolved.
When running a successful business, or even a country, waste is just something you cannot allow to happen.
So, as soon as President Trump found out that government employees planned on giving themselves a large 26 percent raise on their salary this year, he wasted no tame to do something about it.
He wrote a letter to the Speaker of the House, in which he stated :
“Title 5, United States Code, authorizes me to implement alternative pay plans for pay increases for civilian Federal employees covered by the General Schedule and certain other pay systems if, because of ‘national emergency or serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare,’ I view the adjustments that would otherwise take effect as inappropriate.”
:”Under current law, in addition to a 1.9 percent across-the-board increase for the base General Schedule, locality pay increases averaging 26.16 percent and costing $26 billion would go into effect in January 2018. A pay increase of this magnitude is not warranted.”
Luckily the President swept in when he did, and saved the country billions of dollars.
